These two old tractors are being loaded up to go to an antique tractor show. Once there, they will be displayed along with hundreds of other pieces of 'tired iron'. Each had its purpose and use on family farms and represents a hard but less complicated way of life. Farmers had to cooperate with nature in order to survive. Obviously the weather was a major factor in their success from year to year. But other laws of nature had to be respected and used as well. Gravity and physics in general were part and parcel in accomplishing major tasks and in living daily life. They weren't simply subjects in school or theories to be debated, they controlled how to load, haul and store hay and corn. They could assist in maneuvering large objects and in building sheds and barns. Even irrigating fields relied on using nature's laws to one's advantage.
Although these tractors are displayed as antique, have no doubt that they are still capable of assisting us in the tasks that are part of country life and are often called upon to do so.
